Independent/Private School Applications
If your student is planning to apply to independent/private schools, please forward all necessary school/principal/counselor recommendation forms to your student's current grade level counselor and all transcript requests to Ellen Karavangelos (registrar) as soon as possible.
We ask that you complete the MCPS Authorization for Release/Exchange of Confidential Information Form (MCPS Form 336-32) found here for each school to which your child intends to apply and submit these signed forms to Ms. Karavangelos.
If your application requires individual teacher recommendations, please send those directly to the specific teachers after you have completed the form above and given it to Ms. Karavangelos.
If the schools to which your student is applying give you the option to use the Standard Application Online (SAO) or the Gateway to Prep School application, please consider using those. The counseling department requires at least 15 days to process these requests, so plan accordingly keeping due dates in mind!
